Sources: Nationals offer Yoenis Cespedes five-year deal; Mets won't go past three years
The Washington Nationals have made a five-year offer to free-agent slugger Yoenis Cespedes, FOX Sports MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal reported Thursday. Meanwhile, the Mets remain unwilling to go past three seasons.

On Wednesday, Rosenthal first reported the Nationals' interest in Cespedes, despite apparently being set in the outfield with Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth and the recently acquired Ben Revere.
Although it appears the Cespedes sweepstakes could be nearing an end, there still could be other teams involved in the process.

Late Thursday, Rosenthal reported that Cespedes is torn between the Nats' offer and his desire to stay in New York.
Cespedes, 30, hit .291/.328/.542 with 35 homers, 42 doubles and 105 RBI last season, including a .287/.337/.604 slash line with 17 homers, 14 doubles and 44 RBI in 57 games after his trade from the Detroit Tigers to the New York Mets.
