Springer recognized as Astros' 'Heart and Hustle' Award winner
On Tuesday, representatives of all 30 MLB teams were recognized as Heart & Hustle Award winners.
For the Houston Astros, that honor was bestowed upon outfielder George Springer - who, coincidentally, just hosted a special fundraiser for Houston-area youth dealing with stuttering issues.
As for the Heart & Hustle Award, it's handed out by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association to individuals who (according to MLB.com's Chandler Rome) "...demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game."
On November 10, one player will be named the overall winner from the pool of 30 team representatives as voted upon by fans, MLB alumni and current players.
