The Cubs face a must-win after being dominated by the Dodgers in Game 3

The Chicago Cubs entered the postseason as the prohibitive favorite to not only win the National League pennant, but also the World Series.

Now, three games into the NLCS, Chicago faces a must-win Game 4 with their season all but on the line.

Chicago lost Game 3 Tuesday night in Los Angeles, 6-0, as the Dodgers now take a 2-1 series lead.

The Cubs were flat-out dominated by Los Angeles' pitching staff, which has been the case for two games now.

Rich Hill threw six shutout innings, allowing only two hits and two walks to go with six strikeouts during those frames. L.A.'s bullpen then did the rest, soaking up the final nine outs, with closer Kenley Jansen recording the final four.

It's been a brutal two games for the Cubs' lineup, which has tallied six hits total across the second and third games of this series. Chicago has gotten almost zero production from the middle of its order, with its 3-4-5 hitters getting one hit over the last two games (and that one was a broken bat infield single by Anthony Rizzo in Game 3).

The Cubs now turn the ball over to John Lackey on Wednesday night, who will face Dodgers rookie Julio Urias.

If it is any solace for the Cubs, Lackey has plenty of experience in big games, winning Game 7 of the 2002 World Series as a rookie for the Angels and winning Game 6 of the 2013 World Series to clinch the title for the Red Sox.
