Ticket prices for Game 6 of the World Series are tumbling

The price of a ticket to get into Progressive Field for Tuesday's Game 6  of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians has fallen, surprisingly.

Despite Cleveland having a chance -- a second chance? -- to win its first World Series since 1948, ticket prices on the secondary market sank after the Cubs won Game 5 Sunday.

Per Vivid Sports, the "get-in cost: was nearly $900 for Game 6 at first pitch for Game 5.

Immediately after Chicago's 3-2 victory, that price rose a bit but only for a few hours.

In the overnight, a plethora of posts showed up with the "get-in" price as low as $764 for GA. A seat wasn't much more as you could get one for $794.

The median for Game 6 a week ago was $3,000. That price has tumbled, too.

That's the "good" news. The bad? If the Cubs manage to extend the Series to a seventh game, the cheapest price is almost double. The lowest price for a seat for a Game 7 would be more than $1,500 per Vivid.

A standing-room ticket is a couple hundred more.

Game 6 is Tuesday on FOX with first pitch shortly after 8 p.m. ET. As we said before the Series began, it's free to sit at home and watch on your TV.
