Tigers' Cabrera, Angels' Pujols want to participate in Home Run Derby
Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols are undoubtedly among of the greatest hitters of this generation.
Cabrera, a nine-time All-Star, has a laundry list of MLB accolades, including two-time MVP, Triple Crown winner, three-time AL batting champ, five-time Silver Slugger award winner and even World Series champ.
Pujols has a similar resume, with nine All-Star games, three NL MVP awards, six Silver Sluggers, two NL home run titles and a couple of World Series titles to his name from his time in St. Louis.
But there's one thing missing from both of their resumes: Home Run Derby winner.
Good news: Cabrera and Pujols could be coming for this year's crown.
When a fan tweeted at Miggy asking if he'll participate in this year's derby, the Tigers slugger replied, "Yes!!! what you think ? I have to make the team first."

Pujols offered a similar caveat, telling MLB.com he'd like to compete so his sons can see him one more time, but that he won't do it unless he's selected for the All-Star Game.
"Like I told you last year, I won't do it if I'm not at the [All-Star] Game," Pujols told MLB.com.
"If that happens, I think I'm all for it. I'll give it a shot."
He also says it would be his last Home Run Derby.
Cabrera has participated in two Home Run Derby competitions, finishing third in 2006 and fourth in 2010. Pujols finished second in 2003, tied for third in 2007 and fourth in 2009.
If Cabrera wants the derby crown, he'll have to knock off the reigning champ, his Tigers teammate Yoenis Cespedes -- who has won the derby the past two years.
Miggy, who has 15 home runs so far this season, has 405 career dingers, making him No. 52 on the all-time list.
Pujols is leading the American League with 23 homers and has been scorching at the plate over the last month.
