Trey Mancini's mom went bonkers over his first MLB hit (it was a homer)
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Trey Mancini won't soon forget his first major league hit.
Neither will his mom, Beth.
Making his MLB debut, Mancini launched a home run into the left-center field stands in the fifth inning for his first hit.
His mom, who grew up an Orioles fan, acted appropriately (which is to say she freaked out):
Wave it bye-bye! There goes @TreyMancini’s first Major League hit. #Birdland pic.twitter.com/W9TYsn6Ssa

Mancini's mom also got the keepsake ball a bit later.
One proud mom! Trey Mancini's mom, Beth, got to witness her son's debut, and his first hit/home run. She gets the HR ball, too. #Birdland pic.twitter.com/c7MLVODcDk

As for Mancini, he said it also marked what would have been his grandfather's birthday, which made it extra special. His grandfather was an Orioles season ticket-holder for 20 years.
The only letdown? The Orioles lost to the Boston Red Sox, 5-2.
