Watch an emotional Anthony Rizzo tear up during his tribute to David Ross
One of the things that made this Chicago Cubs team so special and successful was the strong bond between the players. And perhaps none was stronger than the one between Anthony Rizzo and David Ross.
Rizzo and Kris Bryant chronicled “Grandpa Rossy’s” final season in the majors with an Instagram account, and the trio was nearly inseparable. Before Ross entered Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday, Rizzo confided in him on the bench in a moment that was as touching as it was hilarious:
So when it came time for Rizzo to speak at the Cubs’ victory parade on Friday, it was no surprise that he got emotional when talking about his outgoing teammate:
And speaking of great teammates, that was Jason Heyward who helped Rizzo wipe away a tear.
