Watch Theo Epstein go from anxious to ecstatic during the Cubs' ninth-inning rally
The Cubs’ ninth-inning rally against the Giants in Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday night featured so many wild moments, pitching changes and clutch performances that it’s almost impossible to comprehend it all.
So perhaps the best reaction is simply to allow emotion to take over. That’s what Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein did from the stands at AT&T Park -- and he wasn't even wearing a disguise -- after Willson Contreras’ two-run single that tied the score at 5:
But there clearly were some nerves before the hit. After all, the Cubs nearly were forced into a decisive Game 5 on Thursday.
Instead, Chicago can rest until Saturday, when it will host the winner of Thursday’s Game 5 between the Nationals and Dodgers.
