Yadier Molina rips MLB over security after fight breaks out in player family section

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is upset about the security provided for the players and their families at the World Baseball Classic in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Molina, who is playing for Puerto Rico in the WBC, took a shot at MLB on social media after a fight broke out in the player family section of the stands during Saturday night's game against Team Mexico.

Cubs infielder Javier Baez, who is representing Mexico in the WBC, spoke with MLB.com about how he saw the incident in the stands unfold.

"All I heard was [Puerto Rico manager] Edwin [Rodriguez] saying, 'Go back to the dugout.' I thought it was my team, and when I saw the brawl was in the family section, I saw my family and everybody's family trying to separate and try to be safe. Well, I got a little bit desperate, yes, because I hadn't seen what happened, but everything was under control. My family said that everything was OK."

Details about the incident are still scarce, but ESPN's Marly Rivera captured video of the commotion, in which Team Puerto Rico's Jose Berríos can be seen walking towards the stands.

Sunday is the final day of Pool D games, with no future rounds taking place at the venue in Jalisco. Rosenthal noted that Team Puerto Rico asked to leave immediately following their game against Italy.

The second round of the WBC takes place this week, with the Tokyo Dome in Japan hosting Pool E and Petco Park in San Diego hosting Pool F.
