Winner, place and show are a few of the most popular ways that fans can wager on the race.

Winner: Bet placed on driver to get into victory lane first
Place: Bet placed on drivers to come in first or second
Show: Bet placed on drivers to finish in the top three

Last year, Pato O'Ward was declared the winner in St. Pete after Josef Newgarden was disqualified. Will Power and Colton Herta rounded out the podium.

Which drivers will finish at the top of the field this weekend?

Let's check out the latest odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of Feb. 28.

2025 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg odds

The Favorites ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • The five drivers below each have odds to win that are 10 to 1 or better, with four of them being 6 to 1 or better as shown below. Betting on any of these drivers to win won't result in a huge payout, but your chances of losing significantly decrease.
  • Insight from FOX Motorsports Insider Bob Pockrass: Pato O'Ward won last year but didn’t know he had won until more than a month after the checkered flag. That's because it was discovered that "winner" Josef Newgarden had access to the push-to-pass boost mechanism on restarts when it should have been disabled. O'Ward wants to show he can earn the trophy by coming across the finish line first.

Josef Newgarden
Win: 19/5 (bet $10 to win $48 total)
Place: 33/20 (bet $10 to win $26.50 total)
Show: 10/11 (bet $10 to win $19.09 total)

Scott McLaughlin

Place: 16/5 (bet $10 to win $42 total)
Show: 17/10 (bet $10 to win $27 total)

The Dark Horses 🐎 🐴

  • The eight drivers below can be considered "dark horses", or rather drivers who might win unexpectedly. They each have odds to win between 11 to 1 and 25 to 1, meaning a significant payday could be in store for bettors who correctly wager on them.
  • Insight from Pockrass: David Malukas is my choice for Comeback Driver of the Year. The A.J. Foyt Racing driver had such high hopes entering 2024 — until he broke his hand in a mountain biking accident prior to the season and eventually lost his ride. He’ll want to prove that the mistakes of last year won’t derail his career.

Will Power
Win: 11/1 (bet $10 to win $120 total)
Place: 19/5 (bet $10 to win $48 total)
Show: 11/5 (bet $10 to win $32 total)

Scott Dixon
Win: 12/1 (bet $10 to win $130 total)

The Longshots 🎯🎯🎯

  • The 14 drivers below are "longshots" to win, meaning it's unlikely any of them will coming into victory lane first. But the tradeoff? Each of them has odds between 40 to 1 and 200 to 1, which means you'd be in store for a massive payday if you successfully wager on them.
  • Insight from Pockrass: There are three Rookie of the Year candidates to me: Louis Foster, Robert Shwartzman and Jacob Abel. Foster won the Indy NXT title last year and the Rahal Letterman Lanigan driver will use that experience to his advantage. Shwartzman will be strong but likely inconsistent as he and his Prema team learn the IndyCar ropes.
