Animated video about Senna created to inspire Brazilian Olympians

On March 24, 1991, Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna famously achieved his dream of winning at home at the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo.

However, it wasn’t easy, as the gearbox on Senna’s McLaren-Honda started to fail in the closing laps of the race.

When he finally crossed the finish line in first place, Senna had just 2.9 second on Riccardo Patrese’s Williams in second. The Brazilian was exhausted, and had to be lifted out of his car.

Senna’s inspiring story is one that sticks with fans today, and so Le Cube, JWT and the “Instituto Ayrton Senna” have partnered to create an animated video that - in their words - provides “a beautiful message from Senna to all the Brazilian Olympic athletes, pointing out the importance of winning at home.”

Ayrton Senna (C) takes in the moment after winning the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix.
