'I'll give it everything I've got,' says Hamilton as he targets Brazil win

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton did the first part of the job in Interlagos on Saturday by beating Nico Rosberg to pole to give himself the best possible chance of winning Sunday’s Brazilian GP - and thus ensure that the title battle continues to the final race in Abu Dhabi.

In the end it was a close run, as he pipped Rosberg by just 0.102s to secure his 60th career pole.

“Honestly I felt quite comfortable in qualifying, as I have done all through the weekend,” said Hamilton. “Nico’s been getting quicker and quicker, but I’ve generally had it covered through the weekend. But it’s just remarkable when you think what this team has done and what we’ve done with this team to have that many pole positions.

“This is the best that I could have hoped for really coming into Brazil. I think this is only my second pole here, it’s always a track that I’ve struggled at, so I’m really, really happy to be on the front row.”

Hamilton says he’s determined to win tomorrow: “It’s what I’ve been working toward all weekend. This an incredible circuit even though it’s so short, it’s incredibly technical. The smallest time makes the biggest difference. It feels a little but like Brands Hatch, where you can be so close, it’s such a short track.

“Tomorrow I hope that whatever the weather brings, that we are prepared as a team, and I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”
