Sebastian Vettel left frustrated by Max Verstappen's pass

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has made it clear that he was not happy with being edged off the road when he was passed by Max Verstappen in the closing stages of the Brazilian GP.

Vettel, who went on to finish fifth, felt that Verstappen wasn’t far enough ahead to claim the line.

“I think I was racing him side by side,” he said. “He saw me, I still had a little bit of my nose ahead. He was much faster so it was about the corner where he gets past, not if he gets past, but I don’t think it was correct.”

Earlier in the race, Vettel had a spin and dropped as low as 19th, leaving him with a recovery drive through the field.

“Obviously not ideal in the first part to spin, I had some aquaplaning, but I was not the only one. I think it was a good recovery, difficult to come back – I struggled to get past Carlos Sainz, I don’t know why, it took a lot of laps before I really started to feel well in the car and it was too late.

“It could have been anyone today, I wasn’t the only one caught out with the aquaplaning but luckily I didn’t crash.”
