USAC has paid homage to the late Dave Steele with a three-minute long tribute video.

Steele was killed in a sprint car crash while competing in the Southern Sprintcar Shootout Series at Desoto Speedway on March 25.

Desoto had competed in the NASCAR XFINITY and IndyCar Series but is best remembered for his numerous accomplishments in short track racing.

The tag line to the video uploaded by USAC Racing reads:

“Dave Steele's unforgettable legacy in the racing world will live on forever. With 60 USAC National wins and multiple Silver Crown titles, he certainly fit the role of Superman when he strapped into a racecar. Let's take a retrospective look at the life and career of ‘The Man of Steele.’”

Steele was 42.
