Watch Ferrari F1 drivers do burnouts at Daytona
The Ferrari Finali Mondiali took place at Daytona International Speedway in Florida last weekend where, for the first time ever, Ferrari F1 cars got to take to the high banks of the historic speedway.
Current Scuderia Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were among those who got to blast by on the high banks of Daytona, while the F1 Clienti division was also in town. Additionally, the season finales for the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli European, North American and Asia-Pacific divisions were also in action.
However, not all of the action took place on the track, as exhibits were on display throughout the paddock, and F1 pit stop demonstrations took place on pit road. And that wasn’t the only thing taking place in the pits:
Additionally, the two teammates also took their two 2009 F60 machines side-by-side over the line in a tribute to Ferrari’s famous parade finish at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours.
All in all, over 800 Ferraris took to the speedway during the course of the weekend.
“It was interesting with the banking,” said Vettel, after turning laps on Daytona's 3.56-mile road course configuration. “I had not done that before. It was quite a nice sensation. Good fun. This circuit is not easy, quite a demanding track.”
“This is a big weekend for Ferrari,” added Raikkonen. “Perfect weather and perfect location – and good racing. It’s been great to be part of it.”
