Battle of Sexes II? Petty says he’d jump in car to battle Danica

The Danica Patrick-Richard Petty discussion took another bizarre turn after NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying Friday at Daytona International Speedway.

Patrick was asked whether she would, in fact, agree to race Richard Petty, something her car owner Tony Stewart suggested after Petty made critical comments about Patrick's driving during a recent autograph session in Canada.

"I'm 76 years old, OK?" Petty said on "Fox News Today" on Friday. "It's been 25 years since I've been in a race car. But I'll take that challenge."

Whether or not he would actually do so is unclear.

Patrick's response when queried Friday afternoon at Daytona?

"All right," she said. "I think Tony said he was getting the cars ready, right? At the end of the day, I think the most important thing is my team owner, Tony Stewart, believes in me. That's the most important thing."

Patrick then was asked if the race with Petty could take place on a racing simulator.

"No," she said, and with that her press conference ended.
