Chase Elliott has been suffering flu-like symptoms this morning and might not be able to finish today's AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, according to the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 team Twitter account.
JR Motorsports XFINITY Series driver Justin Allgaier is on standby in case the rookie Elliott can't make it through the entire race.
Elliott starts from the 11th position and had hopes of possibly winning his first career Sprint Cup race after finishing the spring race at Texas in fifth-place.
