NASCAR hands out penalties after races at New Hampshire, Kentucky
The biggest penalty handed down by NASCAR on Thursday was for John Hunter Nemecheck and the No. 8 NEMCO Motorsports team in the Camping World Truck Series.
Nemechek's truck failed post-race truck height measurements following Saturday's first Chase race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. As a result, the team lost 10 driver and owner points, which drops Nemechek from fourth to seventh in the standings, five points behind the cutoff heading to Dover.
Crew chief Gere Kennon was also fined $6,000 and placed on probation until the end of the year.
In the Sprint Cup Series, the No. 4 team of Kevin Harvick, No. 5 of Kasey Kahne, No. 7 of Regan Smith, No. 16 of Greg Biffle and No. 83 of Matt DiBenedetto all recevied writting warnings after failing pre-qualifying LIS inspection twice.
