NASCAR stars always go fast -- except when it comes to getting married
NASCAR stars always go fast -- except when it comes to getting married.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s female fans will be happy to know NASCAR's most eligible bachelor doesn't plan on getting hitched anytime soon, which the 39-year-old revealed this weekend at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, where he was joined by longtime girlfriend Amy Reimann.
"We don't have any plans," Earnhardt said. "But we're definitely enjoying our relationship and it just gets better every day."
Hey, Junior, it's not too early to tie the knot and get going on a Dale III to carry on the family business. Amy's certainly a stunner, and she even wore a gown that matched your hair color. How many women wear orange well?
"Amy's dress, yes, she's real proud of that," Earnhardt said. "I thought it was a great dress. I love orange, so at least I was able to pick out the color. She's really proud of that and she looks gorgeous, as always. She's got so much class and really makes me look a ton better than I would otherwise, so I really enjoy going to these deals."
Clint Bowyer, meanwhile, has waved the green flag -- or the white one, you might say -- by popping the question to his girlfriend of five years, Lorra Podsiadlo.
Sprint Cup driver Clint Bowyer and fiance Lorra Podsiadlo arrive on the red carpet for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion's Awards in Las Vegas on Friday.
But he's not exactly tearing around the track to the finish line. He probably knows the date of next year's road race at Sonoma, but has no clue when he's exchanging vows.
"The other thing I didn't understand when you propose to somebody is you have to have a date," Bowyer said. "Because that's your question. 'Oh, congratulations.' You congratulate and then you ask when you're getting married. And I'm like, 'Wait a minute.' That was a big step for me. Step 2 is a bigger step."
Bowyer summed up his situation thusly: "Nonetheless, man, like I said up there, I bought the ticket, I'm going to take the ride."
He's just gonna take it nice and slow.
