Sprint Cup qualifying for Quaker State 400 rained out at Kentucky Speedway

Qualifying for the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Kentucky Speedway has officially been cancelled by heavy rain and high winds.

Per a NASCAR rules change made earlier this week, the field for Saturday night's race will now be set by owner points, which puts the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet of Kevin Harvick on the pole, with Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Team Penske Ford on the outside of Row 1.

A huge storm blew through the Sparta, Ky., track Friday morning, causing havoc at the track.

NASCAR officials said  that later this afternoon, they will try to resume Sprint Cup practice, which was halted by weather after just 23 minutes Friday morning.

The final Happy Hour practice is now scheduled for 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.
