3 Warriors that must step up vs Raptors

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:29 p.m. ET

These three Golden State Warriors need to have big performances against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

The Golden State Warriors are back it again Wednesday night, after a tough loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day. Things don’t get any easier, as the Warriors will welcome the Toronto Raptors to town. Toronto has been rolling as of late and they are right on the heels of the Cavaliers for best record in the Eastern Conference.

After losing on Sunday, the Warriors will once again seek to not lose two games in a row. Their streak is at 118 games and a win over the Raptors would prove that they were able to shake the heartbreak off and avoid any hangover from Cleveland. To do that, these three players on Golden State must step up.

3. Shaun Livingston

After Kyrie Irving gave the Warriors everything they could handle on Sunday, the Raptors will bring a tough of guard of their own with Kyle Lowry. The Raptors guard loves to drive and kick out to his teammates for open looks. Shaun Livingston is going to be tasked with playing some stout defense when Stephen Curry isn’t in. Being the point guard stopper in this situation would be nice after Irving hit the winner on Sunday.

2. Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant had a huge day against the Cavaliers. However, he tripped on the final play and was not able to get his shot off. He’s been in the headlines ever since the game ended about how he would have made the shot to win. No one will ever know if he would have but he’s going to have to back up the sentiments with a nice night against Toronto.

1. Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry once again struggled against the Cavaliers. He was held to just 15 points and only finished with three assists on the night. He’s going to need to shake off a bad night with a big night and put together an MVP performance. A huge night at home is exactly what the doctor ordered.
