A triple-double, a record & videobomb -- just another night in Oakland
Is there anything the Golden State Warriors can’t do right now?
Needing one more assist for his third straight triple-double, Draymond Green tried time and again in the fourth period to find that open shooter for that final helper on Monday night. Five times, to be exact.
Wisely, he finally just gave the ball to Stephen Curry behind the 3-point line. Only, on this night Curry was nursing a bum leg; playing with his father in attendance, calling the game for the visiting Charlotte Hornets; and facing two sets of hands in his face when he went up for the shot.
So of course it went in.
When the final horn sounded, Green had his triple-double and the Warriors had a 111-101 victory. And with every Golden State victory nowadays, the final brings with it some historical notes and accomplishments. So with no further ado …
● Green tied the Warriors record with three straight triple-doubles. Hall of Famer Tom Gola is the other, doing it in 1959-60.

● It was Golden State’s 35th regular-season home win in a row, the fifth-longest such streak in NBA history and nine short of the record.
● Curry put those leg pains aside for 30 points in just 32 minutes.
● Golden State is now 32-2, on pace for 77 wins -- or five more than Michael Jordan’s Bulls’ NBA record.
