Allen Iverson sends Ben Simmons an inspirational message after being drafted

Allen Iverson was the Philadelphia 76ers' last No. 1 overall pick before this year's NBA Draft on Thursday, when the team took Ben Simmons with the top selection.

Iverson, still an icon in Philadelphia, won four scoring titles and led the 76ers to the 2001 NBA Finals. His relentless style made him a fan favorite.

A lot is expected of Simmons, whose all-around game could make him a nightly triple-double threat and help the franchise return to its former glory.

Iverson took a moment to send his congratulations to the Sixers' latest star and let Simmons know that he's backing the No. 1 pick.

It's got to be a great feeling for Simmons to have A.I.'s support.
