Arenas doesn't back off sexist comments: 'Ugly girls are mad'

Published Dec. 17, 2015 8:49 p.m. ET

Gilbert Arenas doubled down on his comments about the WNBA, telling TMZ Sports that he's not sorry for his sexist ideas for the league's attire.

"So basically all the ugly girls are mad," Arenas said on "TMZ Sports" on FS1. "I don't know what the big deal is about. They called me washed up. Yeah, I'm washed up. I don't want an apology if that's the truth."

When asked how he would react if his daughter told him she wanted to dress in shorts and a T-shirt and not the skimpy outfits Arenas was suggesting, the former All-Star guard had an interesting response.

"See, I'm petty so, as a father I'm going to let her dress the way she dresses. As a petty person, I'm gonna laugh at the way she dresses. Period."

Arenas' Instagram post Wednesday drew the ire of many of the WNBA's biggest stars.
