Austin Rivers uses first-person in a tweet but isn't talking about himself
The first day of free agency always brings about some weird moments. We had our first one Wednesday afternoon.
Free-agent guard Austin Rivers, who spent this past season with the Pelicans and Clippers, fired off a since deleted tweet that read pretty funky.
Rivers played for his father, Doc, with the Clippers. It would only make sense that he would come back, even though the Clips can only spend up to $3.1 million per year on his contract. Still, he doesn't stand to command that much money on the open market.
Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports later cleared up the Rivers tweet:
That's probably the first time in human history a person has used first-person singular twice in the same sentence without actually referring to himself. Way to be cryptic, Austin. Good job.
