Bogut wants Clippers to kiss his championship ring on middle finger

Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut is tired of the criticism surrounding the Dubs' championship run. So much so that he's getting his championship ring fitted for his middle finger to provide a message to the doubters -- particularly the Los Angeles Clippers.

"I’ve actually got my ring fitted for my middle finger so they can kiss that one," Bogut said on the Fitz & Brooks podcast on KNBR when asked about Clippers coach Doc Rivers' comments on the Warriors and luck.

Bogut said he didn't understand how a team like the Clippers -- which hasn't won a title together -- could disrespect the reigning champions.

“I just don’t understand that," Bogut said. "We respect all previous champs. We’ll respect future champs. They don’t want to respect us, so be it. We’ve got a ring. We did all the hard work. We know what it takes. We don’t need any more motivation, but if they want to throw some at us, we’ll definitely put it on a board and be aware of that."

The Warriors have been criticized all summer for winning a championship with near-perfect health and against an easier-than-anticipated playoff schedule, both of which were out of their control.

Bogut ended the discussion by using the "count the rings" argument.

"It’s one thing taking it from a team that’s won a championship, taking those kind of criticisms," Bogut said. "But from a team that hasn’t? It’s kind of dead air."

Dead air is all you are likely to hear from the Clippers after Bogut and Klay Thompson's respective comebacks. The Warriors-Clippers rivalry is clearly seeping into this coming season, but the Clippers lack the credibility to criticize the Warriors until they win it all (if they ever do).
