Given that Brandon Ingram is expected to go first or second in the June NBA Draft, it was anticipated that he’d leave Duke at the end of his freshman season.

On Monday, he ended any remaining speculation about his future in a first-person piece on The Players' Tribune.

Ingram, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 17.3 points and 6.8 rebounds while making 41.0 percent of his three-pointers. He and LSU freshman Ben Simmons, who had already declared for the draft, are the consensus top two picks.

Duke, which won the national championship last season, made it only to the Sweet 16 this year, finishing with a 25-11 record. Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski issued a statement after Ingram’s announcement.
