Carmelo Anthony on teammate's shooting: 'We are all targets'

Carmelo Anthony has been one of the NBA's most outspoken advocates against gun violence, especially of late. Because of that, his comments following the shooting of Knicks teammate Cleanthony Early, who was shot in the leg early Wednesday morning when the Uber he was in was cornered and robbed, should come as no surprise.

Fortunately, Early did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, but when events as horrifying as the ones that went down Wednesday morning happen, shock waves are sent throughout the league. NBA players tend to place themselves in political conversations as often as any other types of athletes. In fact, Anthony was recently one of a few NBA players (including Joakim Noah, Chris Paul and Stephen Curry) who starred in an anti-gun violence commercial which aired during the NBA's Christmas Day games.

The incident involving Early on Wednesday will only enhance the conversation.
