Celtics' Smart out a couple of weeks with left leg injury

NEW YORK -- Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart could miss at least a couple of weeks with a lower left leg injury.

Coach Brad Stevens says Sunday that the second-year guard won't need surgery and the injury isn't considered a long-term problem, but that doctors want to make sure he's fully healed before returning.

Smart was hurt while playing 21 minutes against Brooklyn on Friday night. Stevens says he just came down wrong, calling the injury a subluxation of a joint, meaning it popped out of place.

Smart has averaged 9.8 points in nine games, including eight starts. Stevens said Avery Bradley would start Sunday against the Nets.
