Charles Oakley chants break out at New York Rangers game
Charles Oakley might be the most popular man in all of New York right now.
Charles Oakley will never have to buy a drink in New York city ever again. After getting in a fight with Madison Square Garden security and being arrested by the NYPD Wednesday night, waves of support have come out in his name throughout the basketball world.
Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Paul all came out in support of Oakley earlier today and most New York Knicks fans have spoken out in support of the former Knicks big man. Chants even broke out for Oakley in Madison Square Garden Thursday night!
The only thing is, those chants came during a hockey game. A New York Rangers hockey game, to be exact. For those wondering, yes, James Dolan is the owner of both the Rangers and the Knicks. This continues to prove the theory that every single person in New York wants a chance to punch James Dolan.

Oakley was arrested by NYPD at MSG Thursday night and if staff were hoping fans would forget about it because they were at a hockey game, they were sorely mistaken. All of New York is in Oakley’s corner without a single fan coming out in support of Dolan.
If he just showed some maturity and made some efforts to make up with Oakley, then fans of both his franchises might not be so willing to clown on him. What he instead chose to do is use security to try and end the chanting.
This is not a situation that’s just going to go away for James Dolan. MSG is in constant use throughout the year by both the Knicks and Rangers, and now both fanbases are on Oakley’s side in their feud. He’s going to be hearing about this one well beyond the season.
