Clippers' Jordan ties Wilt Chamberlain -- and that's not a good thing
With Damian Lillard sidelined by an illness, the Portland Trail Blazers were in trouble against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night. So Portland coach Terry Stotts had his team intentionally foul Clippers center DeAndre Jordan repeatedly. And we can't emphasize the word "repeatedly" enough in that sentence. Jordan attempted a career-high 34 free throws, making 12 of them.
Those 22 misses aren't great, but they did help Jordan equal one of the NBA's all-time greats. He tied Wilt Chamberlain's record for most missed free throws in a game:

After the game, Jordan said that he'll keep practicing his free throws. He also admitted that going to the line that many times can be tedious -- and can affect his postgame plans:
''That just means more practice,'' he said. ''It gets boring. And it makes me miss my reservations after the game. But other than that, it's the same.''
