'Damn, Daniel' meme infiltrates Lakers' plane, locker room

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you've seen or heard about the "Damn, Daniel" video that's taken over social media -- Instagram and Twitter, in particular -- and is impossible to avoid getting stuck in your head.

If you haven't seen it yet, here is the infamous 30-second clip (which now has over 300,000 retweets) from the Snapchat of a teen named Josh who recorded his friend, Daniel, wearing various outfits, and continuously yells, "Damn, Daniel!":

The line that's gained notoriety is, "Damn, Daniel! Back at it again with the white Vans."

The video itself is polarizing -- hilarious to some, annoying to others -- but part of what's made it such a social media fad are the memes and remakes of the video. Almost everyone has their own take on it, and some have made memes or versions of the video that are funnier than the original.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who clearly haven't had much to celebrate this season, decided to get in on the fun, as Jordan Clarkson recently posted a series of "Damn, Daniel" snaps on his Snapchat, featuring teammates D'Angelo Russell and Larry Nance Jr. (via Complex):

The Lakers' version is a bit different, as it features checkerboard Vans slip-ons, "wolf grey" Nike Air Trainer Cruz and green Gucci flip-flops -- no white Vans or an actual Daniel, unfortunately.

But it's still as hilarious or annoying as the original, and it has to make disgruntled Lakers fans happy to see three-fourths of their young core getting along off the court and taking part in a social-media craze.

As sad as it is, this may be the highlight of the Lakers' second half of the season.
