Dave Joerger goes from coaching Grizzlies to Kings in two days
Two days after the Memphis Grizzlies fired Dave Joerger as coach and one day after he was negotiating with the Kings about their open position, Sacramento has hired Joerger to replace George Karl.

Joerger, 42, was 147-99 with three playoff appearances in three seasons with the Grizzlies but reportedly was let go after he asked for permission to speak with other teams. Karl was 44-68 in one-plus year with the Kings and had trouble getting on the same page with star big man DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings were 33-49 this season and finished eight games out of a playoff spot.
The Kings fired Karl on April 14, and Joerger will be their ninth coach since the end of the Rick Adelman era in 2006.
