DeMarcus Cousins expects to return from Achilles injury: 'I feel good'
An Achilles injury is nothing to mess around with. So it's good on the Sacramento Kings and DeMarcus Cousins for taking their time in getting Boogie back on the court.
Initial reports indicated Cousins would miss two games with the ailment in his right leg, but the Kings were conservative and sat their star big man through the weekend. On Friday, Cousins told Yahoo! Sports that he's feeling good and that expects to play Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs:
According to Yahoo!, Kings general manager Vlade Divac, Cousins is "50/50" to play Monday night and will return by Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons for sure.
The Kings have lost five straight games and are 1-6 on the season. Sacramento has struggled on both sides of the floor without Cousins. Although the team has tried to play from the perimeter and with a faster pace, there's no one whose offense teams have to fear without Cousins on the floor. And teams have knifed past the Kings' porous wing defenders, leaving poor Kosta Koufos and Willie Cauley-Stein trying to clean up the mess at the rim.
"I feel good. If it were up to me I would be playing tonight," Cousins told Yahoo Sports prior to the Rockets game.
