DeMarcus Cousins inadvertently gives Utah's Trevor Booker a concussion

Published Jan. 15, 2016 2:07 p.m. ET

Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins was called for a travel, drove to the lane regardless and was rejected. His right hand swung and accidentally struck Utah's Trevor Booker.

Utah has already missed center Rudy Gobert for 20 games, bigman Derrick Favors for 13 games and guard Alec Burks for 11 games. Booker suffered a concussion from the accidental hit; he will reportedly undergo the NBA's concussion protocol. He had played just 17 minutes before the Jazz tweeted he would not return. Boogie seemed to feel guilty for the accidental hit

Cousins ended the game with 36 points, 17 rebounds 1 block and 1 steal. Booker has not missed a game due to injury this season, though he did miss the first game of the season due to suspension.
