DeMarcus Cousins suspended one game for picking up his 18th technical of the season
Just three games into his tenure with the New Orleans Pelicans, DeMarcus Cousins already has been suspended. The temperamental big man will have to sit out one game without pay after he picked up a technical foul – his 18th of the season, automatically triggering the suspension by the NBA – in Sunday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Cousins and Thunder center Steven Adams were hit with double-technicals after getting tangled up just 32 seconds into the game. Cousins has been assessed 101 technical fouls during his seven-year career.
The Pelicans have gone 0-3 since they pulled off the stunning trade with the Sacramento Kings that brought Cousins to New Orleans. Cousins is averaging 23.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in the three games with the Pelicans.
