Draymond Green's mom didn't want him to play in California because of a myth

Mary Babers-Green, Draymond Green's mother, is the Golden State Warriors' mouthpiece on Twitter -- echoing the trash-talking her son does on the hardwood -- and such candidness can occasionally incite some unintentional comedy.

In a recent interview with Blue Man Hoop, Babers-Green was asked about her initial reaction to her son being drafted by the Warriors.

At first, Babers-Green said she was confused, as she didn't know where Golden State was. Once she realized it was actually Oakland, and in Northern California, she freaked out over of the location -- but not for reasons you might think of:

BMH: What was your initial reaction when the Warriors drafted Draymond?

Babers-Green: My initial reaction was “Where is that?!?” Then I thought about geography class growing up and they said California was going to fall in the ocean. And I was like, “Oh my God!”

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), many have wondered whether California is going to fall into the Pacific Ocean, but the answer is a resounding "no." It's simply a myth.

California has been due for a colossal earthquake for decades now, and movies like the recent "San Andreas" only perpetuate that fear. Paranoia around the subject matter is completely normal.

It's just not the type of worry most people would openly share, but Babers-Green -- or Draymond, for that matter -- is clearly not most people. She's brash and loud, and with her son an All-Star and his team currently a historic 48-4 coming out of the All-Star break, it's safe to assume Babers-Green has no regrets over where her son was ultimately drafted.
