Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly agrees to three-year, $186 million contract extension

Giannis Antetokounmpo has agreed to a three-year, $186 million contract extension to remain with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to multiple reports. Antetokounmpo confirmed the news with a post on social media.

"MILWAUKEEEEEEEEE!!" the post reads. "Let's get it!!!!"

The contract includes a player option for the 2027-28 season, according to a report from ESPN. He'll make an average of $62 million annually starting in 2025. He's due $45.6 million this season and $48.7 million next season.

Antetokounmpo's new teammate, Damian Lillard, is under contract through the 2025-26 season, meaning that Milwaukee is guaranteed at least three seasons with the superstar duo. Lillard also has a player option for the 2026-27 season.

Antetokounmpo, a seven-time All-Star and two-time league MVP, led the Bucks to its first NBA championship in 50 years in 2021. Antetokounmpo averaged 31.7 points, 14.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in that Finals series and won Finals MVP.

Last season, Antetokounmpo averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 points and 5.7 assists per game in 63 appearances for the Bucks. He finished third in MVP voting behind Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid.

Antetokounmpo was drafted with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
