Grand Rapids Drive complete 2016-17 NBA D-League draft
The Grand Rapids Drive, the Detroit Pistons NBA D-League affiliate, conducted their draft this weekend and the roster is another step closer to completion.
The Grand Rapids Drive, the Detroit Pistons NBA D-League affiliate, completed their draft on Saturday. The Drive selected Chris Horton of Austin Peay fifth overall with their first round draft pick.
Horton went undrafted in this year’s NBA draft, although he averaged 18.8 points and 12 rebounds per game in his senior season in college. The 22-year-old 6’8″ 225 lbs forward/center shot 59.9 percent from the floor and 62.1 percent from the free throw line.

The Grand Rapids Drive roster is closer to being set now after the draft and will likely be joined by Ray McCallum, Lorenzo Brown, Trey Freeman, Nikola Jovanovic and Mamadou N’Diaye, all of whom were recently cut by the Detroit Pistons ahead of the start of the NBA season.
