Here's a sign the Bulls won't trade Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler was by far the Bulls' best player in each of the last two seasons, and he's emerged as one of the best two-way players in the game. But thanks to some reported locker room issues, and at least one clash with his first-year head coach Fred Hoiberg, rumors have surfaced that the team may explore trading the two-time All-Star from Chicago at some point this summer.
This latest gesture from the organization, however, seems to suggest that Butler isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Via K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
At the end of the regular season, Bulls GM Gar Forman told reporters that "we have to explore all options" when asked directly about the team moving forward with Butler as the face of the franchise. And to be fair, trade talks don't really heat up until just before the NBA Draft, which is still more than six weeks away. But this is a good way for the team put the rumors to rest, for now.
