Jason Kidd on Emmanuel Mudiay: 'He'll be better' than me

Despite having only played eight career games, Denver Nuggets point guard Emmanuel Mudiay is already earning high praise from one former NBA floor general.

That player: Former All-Star point guard and current Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd.

"He’ll be better," Kidd said Thursday morning, comparing Mudiay to himself. "He’s better already. Being able to run an NBA team at 19 is not easy. You look at some of the greats — Magic (Johnson) was able to do it. And you’re looking at this kid Mudiay, who has the opportunity to do something special."

For Kidd, who is second all time in the NBA in assists and steals — trailing only Utah Jazz great John Stockton in both — to say that Mudiay is going to be even better than a 10-time All-Star ever was should give Nuggets fans major hope for the future.

Mudiay, the seventh overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, is averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game on the young season.
