John Wall demands respect from officials after second straight ejection

Published Nov. 15, 2016 2:45 p.m. ET

John Wall was ejected for the second straight game on Wednesday. And while the one that came in Monday night's loss to the Rockets may have been questionable, there's no doubt that this one was deserved.

The Wizards were up by 20 points with a little over five minutes remaining. But despite the fact that the game had pretty much already been decided, Wall was whistled for a flagrant-two foul for his unnecessary takedown of Boston's Marcus Smart.

"Just me being frustrated," Wall said afterward, via The Washington Times. "My finger was bleeding the whole game, got stepped on on purpose, drove to the basket a couple times didn't get calls and the play before I [hit Smart], I was dribbling and got smacked right across the face. I just let my frustrations get the best of me."

But there may be something more at play.

Wall later posted an apology.

Wall is in his seventh NBA season, and this was only his fifth career ejection. But two coming in consecutive games suggests he's not happy with the way he's currently being officiated.

Wall was fined $25,000 for "inappropriate interaction with a game official" following Monday's incident.
