Justin Anderson would be a perfect fit in San Antonio

The San Antonio Spurs have a semi-pivotal decision to make with the 26th overall pick in this month's draft. They can do what they usually do and stash a young European prospect overseas, or they can do what just about every other team does and select someone they think can help in the present and immediate future.

If Virginia's Justin Anderson somehow drops to 26, the Spurs should definitely take him, per SB Nation's Spurs blog Pounding the Rock:

"The consensus on the prospect is that he projects to be a "3 and D" player as a 6' 6," 231-pound wing that possesses a 6'11.75" wingspan. He looks to have the tools to become an elite defender if he can learn patience, fundamentals and the flow of the game. SA is an ideal destination for that growth to occur, as time in Popovich's system would almost certainly allow the young man to refine his skills further."

The 21-year-old junior is more NBA ready than most players who could be available by the time San Antonio is on the clock. And if they lose Danny Green and/or Marco Belinelli in free agency, then Manu Ginobili to retirement, Anderson would fill an immediate hole on the wing.

There's always the chance someone picks him before 26, but if he falls, the Spurs should pick him up.
