Karl thinks Kings aren't in a bad spot ... if you ignore the record

Sacramento's head coach George Karl has an interesting perspective on his players: they're doing just fine, if you don't consider the fact that they're losing games.

Karl has been on the hot seat recently, with many reports indicating that the Kings had plans to fire him earlier this week. Plans to remove Karl as head coach unexpectedly changed Tuesday, however, and all is expected to remain the same in Sacramento.

According to Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones, Karl is satisfied with his team's recent play -- which is highlighted by just one win in the last nine games:

"I don’t think we’re in a bad spot other than we’re losing games."

Something about that logic feels off. While Sacramento has lost to some of the NBA's hottest teams (including a blowout loss to Cleveland on Monday) recently, Karl's team has allowed 120 points or more in three consecutive games.

The Kings face the 76ers in Philadelphia on Wednesday. The 76ers currently have a league-worst record (8-44) this season, so it's a must-win game for Sacramento before the All-Star break.
