Kevin Durant debuts his new Nike sneaker on court in Game 3 vs. Warriors
Nike Basketball unveiled the next signature sneaker for Kevin Durant as part of its Innovation Summit back in March, but with the KD9 not set to release until June, it was unclear when, exactly we'd see Durant himself lace up a pair in a game that counts.
That time came somewhat unexpectedly on Sunday, just in time for the Thunder's crucial Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals at home against the Warriors. Durant broke out a cool grey pair with a pink sole that had previously been unseen.
The Nike KD9 features the company's popular Flyknit technology on the upper of one of Durant's shoes for the very first time. An all-new full-length Zoom Air unit which was three years in the making provides cushioning and support, and the sole's design helps maximize natural transitions, while making this model one of the most flexible yet.
The KD9 release date is set for June 20 at a $150 price point.
