Kevin Durant on Steph Curry: 'He makes bad shots'
Steph Curry's "thing" with LeBron barely has stopped sizzling, and now it seems he's got one with Kevin Durant heating up.
The two had a memorable exchange in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night, with some tussling under the basket that seemed to get Curry riled up. He then went off on a game-changing run, which included a 4-point play at Durant's expense. FOX Sports' Dieter Kurtenbach called it "the catalyst for Curry's third-quarter takeover."
After the Warriors' 118-91 win, Durant delivered the same backhanded compliment Curry hears from his critics.
"He makes bad shots," Durant said. "You know, he makes those shots. And sometimes you gotta just, you know, put a hand up and contest, and you know, when you pick-and-roll, try to put a couple bodies on him. But he made some tough ones, you know, and then we turned the ball over and he got a few in transition, too, so...
"Yeah, they got other players on the court, you know, and we gotta be aware of everybody."
Not sure if that was a veiled shot at Steph, but KD seemed to be in a bad mood in general after committing eight turnovers and scoring just six of his 29 points after halftime.
"They were sending three guys. I was trying to make the right pass," Durant said. "Maybe I've just got to shoot over three people."
This may not be over.
