Kevin Durant reportedly isn't all that interested in playing in D.C.
When the Washington Wizards agreed to hire Scott Brooks as their new head coach Thursday, there were plenty of people who believed the chances of Kevin Durant signing with the team this summer immediately increased.
After all, Brooks coached Durant in Oklahoma City for seven seasons, and KD is from the D.C area, whch would make for a nice and tidy homecoming story.

But that last part (via Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports) may be the problem, and it also may be the reason Durant has already reportedly ruled out signing in Washington as a free agent this summer.
The pressures of friends and family can quickly become a distraction, and that only intensifies if players are in the city where they grew up for half of the NBA season.
Durant is a top-five player in the league, and can play for any franchise he wants. It's likely he'll stay in Oklahoma City for at least one more season, then decide on his future when teammates Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka will be in a position to do the same.
But if and when Durant does decide to leave, it appears as though there's a very strong reason why Washington won't be his destination of choice.
