Kings' Cauley-Stein expected out four to six weeks with finger injury
Late in the fourth quarter of the Sacramento Kings' loss to the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, rookie Willie Cauley-Stein went up to defend an attempted alley-oop. When he came down, the Kings had a problem.
Cauley-Stein suffered an open dislocation to his right index finger on the play, according to the team. He is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury after being evaluated on site.
Cauley-Stein is averaging 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game for the Kings this season. He has started in 14 pf the team's 20 games.
With the rookie big man out, Sacramento has several options to fill in his minutes. The Kings can go small, with four wings around DeMarcus Cousins. Or Sacramento can increase the playing time for big men Kosta Koufos and Quincy Acy.
