Kings owner Vivek Ranadive learning from mistakes

Published May. 11, 2015 5:20 p.m. ET

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive hasn't enjoyed any success since he's taken over the franchise. The Kings are already on their third coach after firing Michael Malone and Tyrone Corbin this season, and the failure to surround DeMarcus Cousins with legitimate talent looms large this summer.

With George Karl as head coach and Vlade Divac now running the front office, the Kings are hoping that a brighter future is ahead. Sacramento has finished under .500 for the last nine straight seasons. Here's more from Ailene Voisin's column in the Sacramento Bee:

“I made mistakes,” Ranadive said, “and I’m sure I’ll make more mistakes. Hopefully, I’ll make different ones. But I am successful at everything I do, and that’s not going to change. We are trying to build something special here, not just for one year, but for many years. And I’m learning that the journey is not going to be easy.”
