Klay Thompson says Warriors won't over-celebrate if they get 73rd win

The Golden State Warriors are hoping to punctuate their historic season by breaking the 1995-96 Bulls' mark of 72 wins Wednesday. But if the Warriors do beat the Memphis Grizzlies to eclipse Michael Jordan's Bulls, sharp-shooter Klay Thompson says the celebration will be somewhat subdued.

Before Wednesday's much-anticipated game, Thompson was asked if the Warriors would pop some bubbly if they reach No. 73.

"Absolutely not," Thompson told reporters. "You've got to save that till June, man. I mean, you might have a glass of wine after the game, but that's about it.

"We'd enjoy it for a couple nights, and then the real season starts."

The defending champs are well aware that if they do top the Bulls' mark, the playoff pressure only heightens. The key to the Bulls' 72-10 record is that they won the title that season. If Golden State were to fall short of back-to-back titles, it would be viewed as a massive disappointment and probably would somewhat tarnish the Warriors' regular-season mark.
